Rochester Wedding Photography

Rochester Wedding Photography - Hi, I'm Brady Dillsworth, a wedding photographer in Rochester, New York!

Welcome to my blog, where I write about wedding photography, sports, travel, business and my personal life; you should find my postings diverse and interesting :)

I am a WPJA award winning wedding photojournalist, which essentially means that my style of wedding photography is all about letting your wedding take place without my interfering in the events... I stay out of the way and photograph real life moments as they happen :)

In addition to photographing weddings, I travel the world photographing professional sports. Some of my best friends and most loyal clients are current and retired athletes, who bring me to their homes for long weekends of relaxed documentary photography work. Beyond photography, I consult for internet companies in the areas of becoming popular, profitable and sold.

I travel a lot and I do my best to post notices on my blog, so if you see that I am going to be close to where you are and if you are interested in meeting for lunch, send me an email and I will try to work something out with you!

Have fun looking through all of my wedding photography, sports photography, travel photography and random thoughts.

Have a great day!

short post

I know I post this a lot, but if you are one of the many people who think that traveling for work is fun, I have to tell you that it sucks more than you can imagine!

Traveling for meetings is nothing like traveling for a vacation… you are taking the first and last flights of the day, wearing a suit, meeting tight deadlines and carrying the bare necessities to stay comfortable on the road.

On my way home from Philly (I was returning so that I could photograph this weekend’s wedding), the train hit a person, I missed all three flights that I was booked for or on standby for and I got to the airport at like 1am. I ended up staying right at the airport since it was silly to get a hotel room for just a few hours, so I walked around and watched people doing their jobs until 5am. By the time that I got home, I had been awake and meeting/traveling for 28.5 hours :)

I guess JetBlue’s policy is that if you are more than 4-hours late for your flight without calling, you forfeit the fare… and since I was a lot more than 4-hours late and had better things to do than call JetBlue, I was told that I would have to buy a new ticket to get home. Undeterred, I managed to get a new ticket for $0.00, be listed as a confirmed passenger versus as a standby passenger and to get an exit row aisle seat without having to pay the $10 or $15 fee for the bigger seats. I attribute it to being nice to the customer service person, instead of being one of the many stressed out travelers who yell at people who have nothing to do with travel delays.

The meetings went very well. Everything is progressing and I can’t wait to tell you what I am doing!

Many photos coming soon :)

Time for me to sleep before tomorrow’s wedding :)

Have a great day!

This is Jim

This is Jim, the photographer who helps me photograph weddings. He was a test subject while I scouted out locations for portraits at the wedding on Saturday.

Jim Dolan

Jim is very talented, usually around 1/4 to 1/3 of the wedding photographs that I post here are taken by him… you probably wouldn’t even know that if I didn’t tell you, it is because his photography style blends so well with mine :)

As soon as I get back from Philly, NYC and NJ, I will post some of my best wedding photographs to date, so look forward to it!

Two new posts below, so keep reading down the page :)

Have a great day!

:)

I can’t wait to post this weekend’s wedding for you to see!

colgate divinity ross and laura

I looked through around half of the photos and I am so excited… this is seriously one of the best weddings that I have photographed in a long time. It is hard to explain, but this wedding and the last one that I photographed (Statler Hotel in Buffalo) were both unbelievable. I think that, after all of these years (I’ve been doing this since I was 16, so 7 or 8 years), I have finally found my true style, the way to photograph weddings that represents the way that I actually see things :)

I am so glad that this wedding was practically perfect, because it literally could not have happened to anyone better… I think that Laura was one of my most excited brides ever!

I am going to post more photos than usual, so it will take me a few days to get them all ready :)

Have a great day!

Was there a fight at my wedding?!

Check back in a few days for the answer :)

Have a great day!
